The Oculus Rift CV1 has been around since March 2016 and has recently seen a new-generation upgrade – the Oculus Rift S - but are the improvements worth forking out for? Let's find out. The Oculus Rift is still an excellent piece of kit with a lot of great features and has actually had a price cut over the years. Let’s take a look at what it offers.

Apr 17, 2020

Still under development - World of Diving is a VR diving game that delivers an exhilarating multiplayer diving adventure, all without getting your feet wet. The game enables you to freely explore the ocean and progress through exciting challenges. It's a beautifully crafted and relaxing game that enables you to interact with amazing sea life, discover the sunken remains of history, salvage ancient treasures and much, much more.

Lone Echo - Game review

Mar 15, 2020

Inspired by the movements of astronauts on the International Space Station, Lone Echo is acclaimed developer Ready At Dawn’s first foray into the world of VR. You play as Jack, an android aboard a mining ship orbiting Saturn. Moments into the game, something collides with the ship, taking out some vital equipment. As you investigate alongside Captain Olivia, the only other crew member, the plot will take a mind-boggling turn as the very boundaries of time start to blur.

The Lab - game review

Apr 26, 2020

The Lab offers eight different minigames, each giving a look into the unique ways that VR could interpret various video game genres. These include: an Angry Birds analogue, a tower defence game, an intergalactic shoot ‘em up, secrets galore, and the chance to become a robot mechanic. The rest aren’t really games per se, it’s more that they consider what avenues VR might go down in the future. Amongst these are an interactive solar system, detailed CT scans of the human body and a “virtual holiday” in the Icelandic wilderness, where you’re accompanied by a robotic pup.

Oculus Go - VR headset review

Oculus Go - VR headset review

Aug 24, 2018

There’s a whole new world of VR out there and the Oculus Go has found its place in the market as one of the best affordable VR headsets in 2019. Retailing at around £199, the Oculus Go is steep competition for its older brother, the Oculus Rift. This stand-alone unit needs no wires or other hardware to operate and, as such, is a piece of kit that’s incredibly simple to use. We can see how the Oculus Go will appeal to the VR curious among us, so we put it through its paces. Ready, Steady…. Oculus Go!

Samsung Gear Review

Samsung Gear Review

Apr 24, 2020

Strapping a smartphone to your head may seem peculiar, but this is essentially what you are doing with this headset. Having said that, the Gear is comfortable to wear, even on those of us with bigger than average heads who wear glasses!  The designers have tweaked their design, not only to fit the newer S8 phones, but also to allow it to fit more snugly. The only technology inside the headset are the lenses themselves. There’s a touchpad for navigating on the side and a focusing wheel too.

Robo Recall - Game review

Apr 22, 2020

Robo Recall. An action-packed, fast-paced FPS, with a somewhat similar premise to the hit movie I, Robot. Although Robo Recall is an arcade game at heart, it does a decent enough job of setting up the story. Set in the distant future where robots have become commonplace, you take on the role of Agent 34, a robot recaller working for the Robo-Ready corporation. You’ve been sanctioned to recall (read: destroy) defective rogue robots after a deadly computer virus has rendered them insane.
